The soft greyed tones work so well on this classical yet impressionistic composition. Probably not the greatest compliment in the world, but it would work beautifully in today's interior design colour palettes.

Thank you Janet for your interesting comment. I was unsure about the finished work as it looked so 'classical' as you say, It is difficult to get the balance right between a satisfactory composition and a loose impressionistic handling of the paint.
