Cracking picture, agree ithw Ruth, certainly captured the character.

If only he didn't have a passing resemblance to my late Great Aunt Lizzie .... but he just does... prejudices me slightly.... But no - a splendid painting; and I found velour paper very pleasant to work on, when I tried it with conté crayon and a small touch of soft pastel: and I really want to do more now that I've seen this.

Thank you for the lovely comments. I have to say I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew when I started this but I really started to get into it and thoroughly enjoyed the process. This was a mixture of Conte and soft sennelier pastels which are a joy to work with on this velour paper. I now have two commisions to do............
