Fabulous pen and ink. I love this style of painting. I particularly like the the tree - the poor dog does look lost!

I had a few photos I had taken of some really swampy, marshy Norfolk ground which I felt would make a good pen & ink. So I drew. But something seemed to be missing. And so I put in the sketch of the lost dog. This dog isn't a poodle - but an Irish Water Spaniel. My first dog was of this breed. My mother bred them and then later in life she rescued some from various dog homes. Bred as gun dogs originally they are adapted with webbed paws and a straight tail for rudders. This is a pen drawing with watercolour wash on 140lb A3 watercolour paper.
