Some years ago I was given a present: "Portrait of a Contry Artist,C.F.Tunnicliffe,R.A.". His drawings , paintings, sketches and woodcuts were inspirational". Perhaps the mark of a good artist is when she/he helps you to see more clearly. Magpies proliferate in our neighbourhood, I get irritated withem in summer when thye riad the blackbird's nest, but this time of year they seem to be hanging around, coming to life when it's windy and certainly looking for light in December
