It's super - keep up with those oils, there will be no looking back. If you mix your oils with a 50/50 mix of Gamsol (a solvent) and Galkyd, you will find it helps you blend and because of the solvent quicker drying. Just make sure you then use Galkyd for your final coats of paint using the fat over lean principle.

Prawle Point on the south coast of Devon. My third oil painting. I love the smooth soft buttery texture of oil paints, the ease of blending and the glossy finish, but their slow drying (compared to acrylics) is problematic for layering. Cobra water-mixable oil paints on gesso-coated cardboard (actually the back of a pad of Bockingford paper).
