Love it Ivan this is a superb still life very well conceived and produced all in a total balance. Brilliant

Thanks mate, keep painting stuff, who knows where I'll find inspiration next time ;)

Well you were greatly inspired here Ivan, this is very good. Love the sheen on the pots.

Thanks Carole, Michael. The lighting/shading of the pots was a bit tricky as I had to "guess" it. I had no real jugs with the same appearance to look at.

The first thing that struck me about your sill life Ivan, is your use of the same cruves and lines you use in your nude studies. Was that a conscious decision, or did it just evolve? It's a super study.

Thanks Fiona, well it's rather a subconscious choice I guess. I don't use that much sharp edges and preffer more fluid non-aggressive lines. And I unintentionally follow the same pattern in all genres. You can't change one's nature, can you? ;)

Dennis recently posted a still life that caught my attention and I told him I may borrow an idea or two from him (and I did so indeed). It took me some time finding the appropriate object of painting, I have several coffee and tea sets at home but none of them appeared to be suitable for the task. The photos on the internet didn't help me either so I decided to paint some imaginary utensils instead. I wasn't sure what it's going to look like in the beginning but somewhere at the midpoint it all turned out to be going the right direction. Frankly, I rarely paint still life, that's not my strongest discipline but I think I did well here, I'm happy with the result. Hope you'll enjoy it too. 24x30cm, painted over an older painting.
