Hi Irene, Well, I,d very much like to see your private collection! I don,t understand why you haven,t been accepted into the Suffolk Art Society, that doesn,t make sense, your paintings are most certainly up to the required standard for any Art Society, I must admit, I have never bothered with Art Societies, being self taught, I have just plodded on in my own way. I am intrigued to know what you would like in your Christmas stocking!! I like this painting very much indeed, what size is it? Best wishes, much love, Bill

My dear Irene, I really wouldn,t bother with the Art Society, you don,t need them. I used to hire local village halls for 2 or 3 days, and set up my own little exhibitions, they proved to be a really good "springboard" for the future, they also had the added bonus of enabling me to sell my Photographs and Postcards in addition to my paintings.Be brave and go it alone, I,m sure you won,t regret it. I wish I could put something in your stocking for you Irene, lol. Your saying about painting on the cover of a block, reminds me of when I started experimenting with a particular painting on an old piece of hessian, well , I worked and worked at this painting, and when I deemed it finished I was furious that I hadn,t painted it on Watercolour paper, because the result was more than I could have ever hoped for, I even had the audacity to frame it and sell it. Hi Irene, I've just been through your gallery. You really do skies well, you must know they are your forte. Don't beat yourself up about sales, I see there are others on this website who say the same thing and get very down as a result. After all, do you paint for your own pleasure or as a commercial exercise? I suspect the latter, so please keep experimenting!
