Don't know why you are unhappy with this Irene, it's very dramatic, lovely colours. The sky is beautiful. I would be proud of this.

Never easy with mixed media Rhian, the tendency is always to overwork the white. Actually, you have done a very good job here. Try cropping an inch or so from the heavy cloud on the left of the painting and I think you will have a superb piece of work, it is very well done. love, Bill

Thankyou Bill, your advice is very welcome, and if i was going to frame it, i would probably do that but i think this pic would have been better off in the waste paper bin, as was just a doodle, i never gave it much thought, as to composition..ect, sometimes they work and sometimes they just dont. yes i know what you mean by over doing the white,its not a very good pic, but its all a learning curve.!! i have to be in the mood to paint, don't know if other artists feel the same, or can just paint,whatever their mood.??? I love the right hand side of the picture but there's just too much black cloud for me. Rather than cropping the side I covered up about 1/3 from the top and that works well; makes the cloud less pervasive. I know what you mean about being in the right mood. I have to be driven to do a picture or I just make a mess.

Look at all your gorgeous work I have missed. What a free painter your are? I love them. Thank you for your note. It made me cry. Still gets me in the pit of my stomach. I cannot paint at the moment. Strange though - when we lost our grandchild in a car accident - I didn't stop painting. We have just got back from Cornwall we took mum she is 87. I did manage a small plein air painting the view from the cottage was amazing with fantastic sunsets!!! Thank you once again for your kind thoughts Jeannette xxx
