It's very redolent of spring, Helen - cool crisp air and sunlight through the trees. Lovely! Thank you too for your very kind comment on my painting.

How lovely this is Helen! cannot wait for bluebells in the woods.

Beautiful watercolour, Helen. I like the contrast between the very strong sunlight and the shadows of the trees. The way you painted the bluebells is wonderful and so lively. Great!!

Very pretty Helen, Bluebells always make a pretty subject. I love the way you have flicked the paint. Good recession too.

Agree with everyone . This is a lovely piece. The soft golgen yellow sunlight together with the blue bell.... such a beautiful feeling.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Mia - I saw on an ealier comment that you are from Belgium. My husband & I visit your country 4 or 5 times a year. We usually stay in Veurne , but have visited many other places.

Hi Helen, just to let you know, we had a lovely, sunny day yesterday at Veurne and Ieper (what a coincidence!!). We often have a day of in "the Westhoek", visiting Veurne, Poperinge and Ieper. We always go to the Menin Gate in Ieper with the thousands of names of soldiers of WWI with no known grave. It is always very emotional for me to see that even young British students are coming there and put some poppy-aureols on the stairs as a remembrance (yesterday we saw a lot of them there). It is such a beautiful part of Flanders and yet such a sad place knowing what happened there....

Just what I need to see in the middle of winter here in Canada. Something to look forward to.

Roll on spring. We have got snow again and minus 9 but lovely sunshine . No bluebells in Bavaria (they dont grow here) unfortunately but perhaps i can wangle a trip back to uk in april. A lovely painting - the light is just right - exactly as i remember the bluebell woods in hertfordshire.
