Berlin Cathedral by Heinz Sterzenbach
Berlin Cathedral, Watercolor, Watercolor Cardboard, 15,9x11,6 inch, 1994. Main monument of the time of Emperor Wilhelm II. This cathedral was constructed 1894 - 1905 by Julius and Otto Raschdorf. The limestone building in the style of Italian high renaissance was used by the dynasty of the Hohenzollern as a court- and garrison church. It was the religious midpoint of Berlin. Inside there are a lot of important graves and tombs from the last 300 years of the Hohenzollern dynasty. At the right side you see the Liebknecht Bridge crossing the river Spree.
