The colours you've used work really well together in the painting, Hazel.

I know of a watercolourist who won't paint sunrise or sunset, because he says it's impossible to pull it off convincingly. On the whole, having done it once or twice, I do tend to agree - it's very hard to get the intensity of colour without leaving the viewer thinking you've sneezed into wet paint: but I agree with Paul here - the colours you've chosen aren't brash, and do indeed work well together.
