Reminds me of the spaniel which innocently asked to be allowed to sit on my lap - thinking it would just sit there obediently, I allowed it to. Within seconds, both paws were planted on my shoulders while she washed every square centimetre of my face ... I didn't know a dog could get its tongue right up your nose before.... Neither my glasses nor straggly beard provided any obstacle; she worked her way round them with a quite admirable thoroughness: and of course one can't protest - opening the mouth to issue a firm command is, when you think about it, out of the question.... You've caught such a moment.
