It was the tension between this colourful delicate vulnerable butterfly and this rugged partly rotten section of a trunk, that was fascinating. Also I wanted to continue a series of portraits of most typical butterflies in this area. This one in Germany is called "Weisses C" before looking it up,I thought out the the name "Feuerfalter" for it. Watercolour and Grphite pencil A3.
