In Jenny's Garden by Gudrun Ståhl Sharpley
In this work In Jenny’s Garden (archival,120x100cm, oil on linen canvas) I explored some more of the theme Character or Image? as described in the About section on my website. What constitutes a portrait?; is it a faithful portrayal of outward features and surrounding things, or an essence of the sitter? Jenny has developed a tropical garden, her passion, with great creativity, and wonderful design of shapes and colours; essentially composing a work of art. The garden and Jenny are inextricably linked.
