A friend asked me to paint a portrait of her dog, Huey and his (now deceased) friend Moppy for her to give to Moppy's owner as a present. The reference photo was absolutely awful; poorly lit, slightly out of focus and lacking in detail. Both my friend and the final recipient really like it... my ghast is flabbered. From the photo, I couldn't even figure out which way up it's supposed to be!
