Having been given some pastels of a brand that I have not used before, as an exercise, I decided to try them out, based on a digital image that I had seen on a friend's tablet. I had tried to paint the same image with watercolours in the past but I think that this one in pastels worked better.

I started attending a weekly Watercolour workshop after retiring in December 2014. I also enjoy working with graphite pencils, sometimes supplemented with watercolour pencils. I also use charcoal, pastels, Inktense, pen & ink, and coloured pencils.
