Hi Graham, Love this little composition. May I give you a little tip? If you make your shading a little darker on the tree behind the house it will throw your house forward then put a slightly darker shading at the back of your foreground field where it meets the house but blend it to very light in the foreground, you will get a clearer sense of distance. It is the meeting places of light and dark that gives a drawing contrast and drama. The more deep the shading against light the more dramatic. Hope you don't take offence at the suggestion but I think if you practice this, you will find your tonal drawings coming to life. Jx

Thank you Jean, and I don't offence at all, in fact I welcome your comments and will try to incorporate what you suggest in future sketches, all advice is most welcome.
