Wow, I love the strength and depth of this picture, but what on earth is Encaustic wax?

Hi Debs first thank you for the comment and encaustic wax is blocks of coloured wax that are melted onto a small iron and put onto smooth card using various moves to create the textures,there are some very good videos on you tube showing lots of other methods that artists use that i havent done yet as only been doing it for about 3months but it is easy to get hooked. Graham
