Beautiful "close-up", love it. I am not sure about the background, but then, with a white flower, I couldn't think of some other colour. You are very brave on that!

Anent the background colour, the only restriction it places is finding a location to hang the painting which is sympathtic to it - this aside a lovely painting

I used pink in a cat painting for the background I thought it looked ok ,even better for a flower ! well done:)Linda

Mia, Michael, Linda and Petra, many thanks for your kind words, pink was unusual, it now hangs in my daughters hallway. I have painted another flower with an orangey pink back ground will post that another time. Then I finished my pink phase!

Absolutely stunning, Glennis. The pink works very very well here, especially with just the right touch of complementary green in the leaves.
