Another super painting - do I see a book coming?

Michael, thank you - I am just a simple person who likes painting, drawing, especially wildlife, animals, flowers etc. The bird theme started from a lady who asked me to do some colour pencil drawings of birds for her. I enjoyed it and it has followed on from there. I do feel the need to paint some flowers soon, I have a lovely orchid on the kitchen window so that will probaly follow at some stage.

Glennis, I think this is your best bird yet! It's beautifully done and I love how you have left an unfussy background.

Thank you Glennis -that completes the set and what a beautiful painting this is.

Fiona, Carol, thank you. Backgrounds - I never know what to do for the best. I spent a long time doing a barn owl it looked nice without a background, but then felt it needed a dark background to make it look more of a natutral surrounding, I think it's spoilt now - win some lose some. As with my flowers and animals, sometimes the background isn't needed. I personally prefer it plain but others like fussy backgrounds.

I think this little chap speaks for himself, no background needed, well done.

Absolutely gorgeous, Glennis! I agree with Michael, there should be a book!

Debs and Seok thank you for your encouragement - no book Seok!

These chaps suddenly arrive in the garden: gather, chatter, take whatever berries are on offer - and then disappear; they have such energy that I'm not used to seeing them stay still - a background would tend to anchor them, and they just won't be anchored: so I should avoid one altogether.
