Pair of Macaws!

Perhaps a bit - maybe darken the greens in the shadow areas. These are macaws, by the way - call 'em parrots and they'll bite you. You could also intensify the blue and orange, just by glazing some stronger colour over the top - I realize of course that you don't want to exaggerate the natural colour and make them too gaudy; I also realize that once you enhance the colour in one place, you're then in an unstoppable cycle of having to strengthen it elsewhere too, and before you know where you are you've lost what attracted you to the subject. But you could always do another study, and see how stronger colour would work? I THINK that's what I'd do, on the whole: but it's so easy to give advice when it's not your painting!

Yes I agree with Robert could be a little darker but paint another rather than spoil this picture as the Parrots are beautifully done and you can never replicate it. He's right about easy to say when the painting isn't your own but I would be very pleased if this was mine.

Really good Macaws Glennis, think I'd take Robert and Joys advice and leave well alone!

Thank you all for your comments and for the correction of the macaws. I think I will probably do another picture and leave this one well alone!

A lovely dramatic piece.

These were at Cotswold WIldlife Park - beautiful colours, not sure whether I have done them justice or not. I think the background needs to be darker
