I think your friend will be delighted Glennis. The gold border on the triple mount is very effective and I'm sure a gold frame will add the finishing touch. The flowers are beautifully painted as always.

I don't think I can add much to all the other comments, but I do think If the flowers stood out more from the background it would spoil the subtle elegance and beauty that you have evoked. It's lovely just as it is and the triple mount if inspired.
