Fantastic - almost 3D image. Super colours and beautifully painted.

Pretty in pink! super work Glennis.

Beautiful painting, Glennis, delicately done. Can really feel the shape of the flowers.

I'm envious, Gladys, both of the painting and the flowers you managed to produce! You've captured the shapes very well, and as usual, your washes are clear and translucent. A super watercolor!

Beautiful blooms :)

Beautiful Glennis, the depth of the pink is super!

Must get some hot pressed - love it

Beautifully painted camellias Glennis. Did you use permament rose for the petals, it looks so clean and bright?

This is lovely. I have to confess my ignorance though, Glennis and Michael - how does the hot-pressed paper help/what properties does it have?? I usually just by whatever paper is cheapest (while of a reasonable weight) - should I be more discerning??

Thank you all for your comments. Val it was permanent rose I used with a touch of cad yellow for the shadows. Heather - paper is a personal choice, I like hot pressed paper which is very smooth for near botanical paintings, Fabriano I like very much and it is usually much heavier than 190 grams (not sure of the weight it was bought a while back) - I buy it in batches of 10 or 12 sheets from the SAA. Arches is another favourite of mine (hot pressed) but is quite expensive. I have used cold pressed usually Saunders Waterford.

Wow, Glennis, this is so beautiful! Stunning composition and it must have you taken a lot of time to paint all the flowers and the details. Amazing!

Mia - thank you once again for your comments on my paintings
