I do agree with Jenet, re the tonal values ,you have drawn everything beautifully.

I often wonder how people do there art. Thanks for the description. I really like the over all light pencil look to this... You are very talented.

Hello Geraldine, I did get your kind comments thanks, always amazed when people say such lovely things about my work. I like this one too, as I find w/c & coloured pencil very difficult to use to make a picture look good, but you have managed it well. Maybe Jenet's comment of a darker tone in places would bring the fruit out more. The basket is terrific. Best wishes Carole.

So many objects to look at and they are done very well. I really like coloured pencils, they do take more time to finish a painting but the result is lovely. I agree with the above comments on darker tones; show it to us again so we can see the difference.

Thanks all of you for your comments and advice! I'm delighted with the response to my work!

Thanks for your comments on 'basket of capsicums', sorry I didn't reply earlier but I was away on holiday and I'm catching with the latest posts on this site. I work from a photo of the still life I set at home rather than working from life because it takes me some time to get the work completed. I have darkened the base of the basket, thanks to a suggestion that was put to me and it looks better. Thanks for your time.

Wat a wonderful artist you are...I don't make technical comments because I have forgotten so much after 20 years away from the brushes...I think this is wonderful the detail is exquisite...what patience you must have

Hi I like the cloth particularly and agree with Jenet ( who seems to know a lot about painting) that the tonal values could be stronger but the picture as a whole is very good. Do you try out pictures more than once? I often repaint - correcting mistakes and making new ones- and each time I am very seldom satisfied. That's life! That's painting. Have fun .
