This looks like the Golden Pagoda in Japan, Georgiana. I visited it about 30 years ago on a business trip and your painting has brought back those memories so clearly to me. The gold leaf on the actual building is beautiful, as it is in your lovely painting, Did you use a special paint here? (I have just bought some gold and silver leaf to experiment with myself - once I have read and understood the instructions !) Your blue and yellow palette is striking. I can see how this place would help to restore and refresh one's soul. It is doing that to me 'ere I gaze upon it - gone all poetic too!!!! X

I will be in Kyoto soon & I hope to see Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion-if this is it?) This painting is full of winter atmosphere but I'm hoping for cherry blossom instead of snow. I love the gold & the blue, -who wouldn't? great picture.
