I am guessing the paper works with your technique to create the slightly unusual texture. Smashing work George, never used the paper myself and not likely to for my style, but I like it a lot.

Thanks Derek and Dennis. I agree with your comments regarding the paper Derek, rough textured paper suits my style of watercolour painting. I use quite a lot of Fabriano because I find the surface is hard sized to my liking. The only draw back with it I find is that the texture is fairly mechanical which might be a little off putting to some. I also use Arches rough and Waterford rough both of which I like a lot. I always use the heaviest weight I can afford as I've never really got on with stretching paper of lighter weights. Both the Arches and the Waterford has a surface that I find acceptable for the way I paint.

really effective George, i like the nearly lost effect of the background gives a real sence of depth and the strength of your rocks without to much detail is so effective and they stand forward of the background so well, nice one.
