Smashing piece of observational painting (some very tricky perspectives)

Superb painting Geoffrey

Good painting indeed Geoffrey.

Super work here Geoffrey with tricky perspectives you have painted so well.

Thanks all for the kind comments. I had a great model at the time.

Looks so familiar. Fab.

Wow! Museum quality painting. It's stunning. I'm a mixture-of-greys artist. I have tried to "master" them in my painting life of fifty years on and off. I don't know if I should ask you this question since I'm new to Painters On Line, so feel free not to answer. Do you mix greys with their compliments or with raw umber with different blues plus maybe burnt sienna for a neutral grey added to colors as I do? Or some other way? How do you get greys that sing? No need to answer if question is not in protocol.

Thanks for the positive comments Lynne. I often use ultramarine and burnt sienna as a basis for grey, then other colours to that. When I have a lot of paint on the palette, I just randomly mix colours to get a grey - not always knowing how I got to an appropriate grey.
