This took me back to my childhood, which was spent playing on the beach at Spurn! Thank you.

Love it, snap Sue, born and breed in Hull, although Spurn point wasn't my normal haunt, that stretch of the east coast was, cracking picture Gary. Know we're your coming from with the masking fluid, lovely when little accidents turn good.

Had to look up Spurn Point as I had never heard of it. Sounds a great place and looks lovely from your painting. I looked at it in the gallery and it immediately made me feel good. I have just bought some Inktense blocks, so I was interested to see what you have achieved with them.

picture works very well. Worn wood looks very realistic. They look like old boat timbers.

Nice athmosphere, I like it Gary.

Can feel the breeze and smell the sea. Very evocative.

Derwent Inktense Blocks on watercolour paper 30x40". The second of my paintings from my walk along Spurn Point in October. This one shows the worn sea defences on the North Sea side of the point looking northwards. I used masking fluid for the for the posts and as I was interupted during painting it was left on for a week. Whilst this too long to leave masking fluid place (it took off the top layer of paper!) it did leave some nice texture behind which really helped to depict worn wood.
