Buzzard
Graphite pencil on A3 cartridge paper. This is from a photo I took at a birds of prey demonstration whilst on holiday this summer. Without doubt the most challenging pencil drawing I have attempted to date and my wife is amazed, she thought I couldn't do it but after 10 or 12 hours of drawing I am very pleased with it. It is not perfect but then I didn't expect it to be. I don't think I have quite enough tonal range in it but I think if I tried to finesse it I would spoil it. Comments welcome! If I remember rightly the bird was called 'Martin'.
