Pastel on Ingres paper 11x14" approx. Merecats are such lovely creatures and I have wanted to paint one for ages. I don't think I have really done the subject justice here, the eyes are too close together for one thing! This is the first tme I have attempted an animal painting in pastels and I have learned a lot from it.

Gary Austin
I am an amateur artist and work in various media but favour acrylics, pastels and coloured pencils. I work full time as a Chartered Engineer and art is my relaxation. I am a member of the Codnor Art Club which was formed in mid 2014 when our adult education class closed after our teacher retired.
