Extraordinary painting - the sheer movement of the surface brings it to life; it would be no use at all just applying the texture randomly, you've applied it with intelligence and judgement, and it works well. It's a technique, however, which could well enter a rut - which isn't to say that this does, because it doesn't, but I'd approach it with caution.

An amazing painting, you've managed to control the heavy texture well. Huge energy, wonderful colours.

Wouls you be able to say Gary in what way you found the Atelier different from ordinary acrylics?

Agree with the above comments, lots of movement in this, well done.

I like the texture and movement. The colours are great too.

Thank you all for your kind comments its always good to get feedback. To answer Lala's about Atelier Interactive Acrylics, they are different to standard acrylics because of the way they can be reactivated with water even when touch dry. This means that they can blended for much longer if desired or left to dry quickly if you wish to paint over them. This gives the artist much more control over the painting just as you have with oils but without the chemicals or the slow drying time. I recommend them to oil painters for this reason and to water colourists too as they can give water colour effects whilst allowing you to correct errors and reactivate the colours if you wish, they don't cauliflower either! Have a look at Tony Hogan's gallery for more examples, he is far far better than me in all respects as I am a mere a hobby painter!

Acrylic on Canvas 16x20 ". I painted this one on a Tony Hogan Art Break using Atelier Interactive Acrylics. The painting is heavily textured using gesso and modelling paste. This is a very different painting experience from the normal acrylic. Tony was great too and I learned a lot.
