Thank you Chris, Carole and Heather. John thinks I should improve the tonal colour, he is also a painter. Not sure I want to muck about with it too much though.

What a super portrait, Fred! It's well composed with an excellent palette, and I love those expressive brushmarks which model the face - subtle yet beautifully applied. Like Chris, I hope I can do as well as you if I reach 85!
