Love it Fred. A great photo which you have imbued with a marvellous feeling. The expressions and almost poses I know what you mean are rendered with a masters touch. A magnificent work

La Dolce Vita! Very atmospheric in monotone. How big is it Fred?

Ah- that girl's is very aloof and ignoring those forward cheeky men - as she should! A great monochrome painting.

You've certainly done it justice Fred!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments, and Marjorie it is 14x11 in.

This is excellent, Fred! I may not have seen the original photo, but I have no doubt you more than did it justice. The tonal work is superb and you have captured the poses of the various protaganists beautifully!

Thank you so much Seok. It is strange when painting faces that they seem to form their own expressions without too much help from the brush! Also being so small you have to leave it alone or ruin it.

This is from an old Italian photo from the late fifties. It's from a book I bought over fifty years ago. I don't know the photographer because it wasn't credited. Was it a candid shot or was it posed, I don't know. But I have always liked because of the attitude of the girl's face. You can just imagine what she is thinking! Hope I have done it justice.
