Great example of making much out of little. It all comes down to the quality of the painting with subjects like this and you have made it work perfectly.

What a great concept, your description is perfect, just like your painting :)

Love all the colours you've used in the background, and the great sense of light and shade, have a bright retirement!

This could have been me, Fred! Leaving my legal career behind for the bright light of art was the best thing I did! I love the concept and the whole composition of the piece. That dash of red at the side is just brilliant, it just adds that punchline to the whole painting!

Thank you all for your encouraging comments on this painting as it was a bit out of the ordinary for me. Been retired now for 12 years! Yes Seok I did reply your email, but have sent it again in case the address was wrong.

I like this for its composition, colour and effect. It jumped out at me to look at it. Great stuff and as you say, you can create much with little; No nonense here!

Thank you Gudrun, glad you like it, I suppose you have to think outside the box sometimes!

I hung out my overalls the other day because they smelt of chemicals, hanging them on the clothes pole. When I looked later they looked like a figure walking. So, I thought I'd see what I could do as a painting. The result is me shedding my workclothes after retirement and walking to a bright retirement. Pretentious claptrap or what!!
