My goodness, Fred - this must have brought back many memories. Love the way you've restricted it to greens - that really emphasises the jungle atmosphere.

Thank you Jane. It had to be all green because our uniforms were all green. When on patrol, the jungle was so dense, if there were a dozen of you the only person you saw was your mate in front of you!

Lovely painting Fred, nice composition and colours

Beautifully painted in that 'jungly' green and yellow. Wonderfully atmospheric Fred.

Wow, Fred! This really captures the mood and the atmosphere superbly! I love the greens and as usual, I'm very envious because you just painted a predominantly green painting without messing it up! I have a friend whose grandfather was a resistance hero in the Malaysian jungle during that time. I'll be sending her the link to your painting. I'm sure she'll be interested. Thank you too for your very kind comments on my paintings.

Thank you so much for your comments Carole and Seok. Out of interest Seok,I served with the 1st Btn. Queens Royal Regt. if your friend's grandfather is interested. When you view the jungle from a helicopter you realise how intensly green it all is.

This is taken from a b/w photo that I took while on operation from my time in the Malayan jungle. We had been on a four day op. and were waiting to be air lifted out by helicopter.
