There's an abstract quality about it, Fred, that makes it an interesting piece, and the colors are lovely. As one of your first pieces, it really does you credit.

Thank you Seok. After enrolling in evening classes at the City and Guilds School of Art, I put this in for the end of year Exhibition and much to my surprise I won the Design Award!

This is one of my first paintings. Painted with Winsor and Newton powder colours. I thought it might be of interest because the smoking chimney at the back of the picture is Bankside Power Station, now the Tate Modern. It was the view from our flat in Union St., Southwark.1959. I couldn't afford to live there now!!
