Great painting Frank

Good composition and very expressive faces.

Poignant and beautifully done Frank.

This is a very well executed painting and well thought out... Each face tells its own story, well done

Thamk you everyone for your kind comments...I did put a lot into this illustration, and hope it sums up all that service personel give in life! Not sure of my next projext, but also hope the Spain village life scenes give pleasure.

Do have a look at more of my work and Christines on www.figuredrawing-devon.co.uk Thanks

Powerful and moving paintings.

This is such a powerful image and beautifully executed. one that I certainly will not forget. Thank you for showing it to us.

I love the entire concept of this awsome job

Thanks all for your kind comments...they are done mainly with Watercolour Pencils. People in War...and this is done on 360 gsm watercolour paper (Langdon)...with base drawing of watercolour pencil, then Art bar (which is a watersoluble thick medium, washed over and then highlighted with pastel...using all these mediums gives me a great freedom within the art, and gives great light effects. Figure Drawing Devon is my UK site with most of our work on! Actually I do use the best pencils Derwent, but I have also found that the budget pencils from WH Smith give great sharp lines, as they do not go soft! A quarter the price of the best! ta ta

This is lovely and has given me food for thought in how to go about doing a portrait of my grand uncle who died in WWI. I've fairly recently started to use coloured pencils, but I'm getting to like it - far more control than strait watercolour.

I love the contrast in this: Innocence vs experience; Light against dark.
