Bob's rainbow

This painting has a charm of its own, with the little leaning lighthouse and rainbow. So sorry about your loss and brave of you to do this painting and post it.

Thank you for your kind comments Thea. 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' (the Gene Vincent version) was one of our son-in-law's favuirite songs and it wes chosen as one of the pieces of music at his funeral. As the funeral procession drove along the sea-front towards the crematorium, a rainbow appeared over the sea. It formed the inspiration to paint this picture for his widow and her daughters.

What a lovely memory, Fiona. It is these little things that seem so symbolic and can ease some of the pain of such a solemn occasion. Painting is very cathartic, don't you find. I am always glad of my art when the going gets tough. Take care.
