Four wonderful paintings Fiona, I particularly like your snow scenes. Do you prime your canvas with a coloured wash?

Thank you for your lovely comments, yes, I prime my canvas first with gesso, then once dry, I add a very loose layer of colour in acrylic. I like to use a warm raw sienna sort of colour for snow scenes because little glimpses of it show through the final work and glow through some of the thinner areas which gives a great result. (the colour is always slightly different because I tend to mix together what ever is left on my palette then I add a little more to it) I often prime two or three canvases at a time.
