Great atmosphere and appreciation for your subject here. Interesting that you have the background in sharp focus and the foreground slightly hazy, I read this as mist. Lovely intense blues, your sky is very well painted. Super!

I'd just blue some of the shadows a bit, or introduce touches of pale purple, but yes, you're coming on well! It's extremely encouraging to be able to observe signs of progress in your painting - en route to perfection!

I like this painting. Not too sure of using greys as shadows to the mountains. Perhaps if you use the pallette that you have used in other parts of the painting ie the blues and pinks (and as Robert suggests joining them into mauves) would give the finished painting a more cohesive look. Some artists use more pinks on the light side and blueson the shadow side which can be wuite effective. Your mountains themselves by-the-way are exquisitely painted. I just adore mountains in paintings. Jx

thank you all for your tips about these two snow pictures, but can i say both have been sold to a very admiring friend yours eric.
