Thanks Heather. Yes, an unusual angle. Willian Orpen was a major portrait painter of the early 20th century. You may have noticed his 1916 portrait of Winston Churchill mentioned in last night's Fake or Fortune TV programme. I've done other portrait drawings in the NPG collection.
