Like the effects you have achieved here Diane.

Interesting experiment Diane.

You’ve got some lovely and interesting textures here Diane, I especially like the marks made by the bubble wrap. Another good textural material is the net you but lemons/oranges in. Chicken wire, the crinkley carry bags, I also use masking tape to use as stencils as in my last posting. Take some of the tackiness off or it will lift the surface of the paper. Lay it on a cutting board and use a craft knife to cut random shapes. Stick them on your paper/card then paint over etc. peel off the tape when paint dry. You can then colour in some of the marks left by the stencil or add texture to the shapes the stencils has left. I love experimenting, you never know what you will end up with!

Yes, it is so good to experiment, and you have achieved some brilliant effects here. There are no end of methods you can use to apply paint or implements to do it with. I use a number of old kitchen utensils such a silicone spatulas, (good for smearing, especially over a texture surface)pastry brushes ( great for flicking and splattering!) etc.

Fabulous effects from the bubble-wrap Diane and the blue horse form, yes its good to experiment and egg-boxes form terrific patterns too, and adding thick paint to create impasto images which are raised. Of course sponges dab and plastic forks and spoons can create interesting waves and jutting lines, enjoy experimenting!

Thank you Denise and Sandra and thank you Fiona, Anthony and Angela for your generous comments and tips!

Acrylic on A4 card. A quick experiment printing by painting onto baking paper and pressing onto card. Also experimenting with texture using bubblewrap.
