I think this is the same castle, though from a different angle, which the late father of a friend of mine painted, also in watercolour - I've coveted it (the painting, rather than the castle) for many years, and this would be a fine companion piece.

I love the clouds over the backdrop of mountains, and the colours of the landscape are beautiful. Great work on the castle stonework, too Dermot!

This is Ross castle in Killarney , I've painted this several times as I love the ever changing moody skies which throw up some beautiful effects in light , I especially love when the clouds envelop mountain tops , we are lucky over here our landscape is so varied and we have enough castles to around ....
