Don't understand why you've not had comments - just pushed off the front page too fast, I imagine. I know this area quite well, though haven't been there for a good many years: the old wall has a beauty which unfortunately the rest of the city rather lacks - and I think you've caught the subtle colours in the old stone.

Thanks Robert, yes I thought about the page being renewed quickly too. You are dead right about the city. I did 12 of these scenes around the city as watercolours and then had some prints framed up and sold them all.

So right sometimes pictures just whizz along. I do like the stone work and soft muted colours. May I offer a bit of a crit... The post in the middle! In my very humble opinion is too " in the middle". My eye keeps being pulled toward it and I find it too dominating. But I. Like the rest of the composition a lot

Thank you Syvia and what's wrong with a crit or two? We should all be able to take it especially constructive like yours. I totally agree and can only say I wouldn't have done it these days, but this was about 20 years back.

Quite an old one I didn't want to sell as it was in my first spell of oils. I did a series of ink and watercolour round the old city and they all went through an art dealer and I liked this so did it in oils for a try. It's 20 x 30cm on board. I hope my photo shows the range of muted colours in the roof of the arch.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
