What a lovely day to be out and about with your sketch book - love the definition with the pen :)

Clever. What I learn from it is that the trick is not to overdo the washes which you always get spot on.

Thanks Jane and Michael. I never overdo the washes as I work very fast. This pen is a bit heavy for this subject, must renew my stock.

Very nice sketch Derek - I can never sketch first, I put down blobs of colour then add the pen otherwise I'd overdo it.

I like to see sketch books Derek. I use pencil when I am out. Then pen in the best lines at home then finish off with watercolour washes.

I like the economy of line, understated but very effective. Atmospheric washes.
