Another great winner Derek - so tell me - how does your work go down at your local art group?

Thanks Michael, not bad so far but I haven't submitted an abstract as they're not good enough, certainly compared to yours.

Lovely Derek and great depth achieved

Cheers mate, the original is much bigger about 40 x 30cms

Do you know. You are really developing a fantastic style. Great use of colour too.

Thanks Gudrun, I am glad as it's about all I can do these days.

very nice use of colour

Lovely strips of mottled colour Derek - good effects and lets you fill in the gaps re possibilities of the figure? cyclist? etc

Thanks Pat but a bit mystified by what you mean. There is a loaded gondolier there but maybe not clear enough.

Really liking this style of painting.a stripped back feel to it. Modern and contemporary looking. A great looking effort.

Derek, some very intriguing colours in there. That is a description that could be applied to Venice...so well done! David

Thank you Andre and David, only been there once and it was returning from a ski trip in the Dolomites.

Lovely! Very interesting marks and great colour Derek.

painters block has gone again great abstract and excellent use of colour Derek David Harrison

You seem to be getting more adventurous

They've said it all, Derek. An excellent abstract. lovely variety of colours.

Thanks Carole, David, Peter and Frank. Funny that - I don't see it as an abstract but hey!

how about abstract expressionism David Harrison

It couldn't be anywhere else Derek....distressed plaster, pastel coloured masonary, water, boat. I like Andre's description, "stripped back and contemporary".

Arty phrases or species don't really matter to me David - whatever and thanks Thanks too Fiona

Glorious glorious glowing celebration of colour, Derek! Love it, it dazzles....

Vibrant Derek.

Thanks Ruth and Tanusree

17 x 21cm on the cutout of a mount. My take on my watercolour. Small for me but I tried. Looking for ideas and the original was on the wall across the landing so I did it.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
