Fireflies over Alfalfa

This could be stars at night too Derek! Fireflies are amazing little creatures, I once mistook them for burning embers as they were hovering over the roof lights of a hotel that we were staying in. I ran back inside to tell them the hotel was on fire! Whoops!

Thanks and Whoops Sarah. We had a guided tour at midnight in New Zealand at a B&B where there were 100000000000000s of them.

Top notch abstract Derek.

Thanks Kal but is it an abstract?

When is an abstract not an abstract? When it is a painting of fireflies against a midnight sky! What a great subject and a super idea - really well done.

Thanks Thea, I used a photo as said but didn't attempt to copy it. On the other art forum I fiddle in an American lady said sniffingly she was struggling to see the alfalfa. I haven't a clue what it looks like anyway and commented it was an impession back at her - pedantic purists eh?

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
