Both are stunning paintings, Dennis. Having lived many years in Venice, in the first, albeit invented, I recognised in the background the Cathedral that Venetians call Madonna della Salute, that you ave in the second depicted with more details. As for me, I prefer the first because of colours and atmosphere.
