The darkened sky is spot on, dennis , it throws the rest of the painting into perspective and portrays a cold day that threatens more snow on the way. I feel the chill :) Nice work.

The sky certainly sets off the snow, and the figure and the dog really anchor the viewer's eye. I'm running out of superlatives, Dennis!
