Is the telegraph pole a mousman signature, don't get me wrong I like it as it appears in most of your landscapes

More or less I carry one around with me and erect it before I start a picture , ha ha no it provides a nice vertical to contrast against mostly horizontal lines .

I learned it from Norman Battershill I liked his work .

A magnificent one Dennis you would never think it and thanks once again for your valuable support

Terrific work Dennis, nice composition, the curve of the stream leading to that telegraph pole and the dark tree and on to the church tower. The cows add balance to those as does the dark cloud on the left. All classic Seago design tips! Without Ron Ranson's comments on numerous Seago works in his book I would just think ' oh that's a nice landscape painting'. Ranson used to have a lot of critics but he was the first of the 'how to paint' writers to point these things out. I wonder if part of the criticism was due to him giving away too much to us dabblers? New beginners would do well to read his comments on design, tonal balance etc. in his old books. The current articles on 'Notan' in the art mags to me, seem to be just a 'posh' way of telling us what old Ron was telling us thirty years ago, in an easier way!

A lovely countryside feel Dennis.

Potboiler? The title does not do it justice. It reminds me of that later 19th century northern France /Dutch landscape charm. Daubigny perhaps? Atmospheric, definitely a "like".

Your wide expansive landscapes are so expressive Dennis.

' the usual' you say. Only in so far as it's excellent as usual. I normally marvel at the sky's you produce ,but in this one the fields and cattle steal the show.

Love your big beautiful skies Dennis, a wonderful scene.

Oh Dennis.....big sigh......gorgeous!

Many thanks all very good of you to comment and Stephen I think Ron Ransoms is a great teacher and produced the best art books I have ever read . terrific man .
